Beaverson and Sweetland Join Amerks in Manchester

Amerks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Florida Panthers have reassigned forward Andrew Sweetland and defenseman Luke Beaverson to Rochester from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Sweetland returns to the Amerks for the second time this season after recording nine points (4+5) in 12 games with the Everblades. The Bonavista, Newfoundland, native has one point in 23 games with the Amerks. Beaverson makes his first stop back to Rochester since being assigned to Florida earlier this season, where he racked up three assists in 18 games on the blueline. He has one assist in eight games with the Amerks this season.

Both players are needed due to a number of injuries that have hit the team at once.  The list of injured players includes Stefan Meyer, Jacob Micflikier, Dan Collins, Mike Caruso, Neil Clark, and Riley Emmerson.  Franklin MacDonald is also out of the lineup so he could return home due to a death in the family.

The Rochester Americans take Game 2 of their current three-game road trip into New England tonight as they face the Manchester Monarchs at Verizon Wireless Arena. The 7:30 p.m. contest is the second and final meeting between the two teams this season and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.
