When our plans fell through to go to the Florida Panthers game against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday we moved on to Plan B, try and win a new car! The Rochester Americans and Knighthawks teamed up with Dick Ide Pontiac/Honda to giveaway a brand new 2009 Honda Fit to one lucky season ticket holder.
The drawing was held at the dealership in Penfield where 7 fans who had been picked at previous games joined another 13 that were picked at the event. A total of ten fans were picked prior but three did not show up.
It was yet another great time as the Amerks team hung out in the dealership signing autographs and chatting with fans. Don Stevens announced the contest with Riley Emmerson standing watch over the keys.
The contestants lined up one by one trying the key they had picked and failed to hear the car turn over. Just prior to Dave Sturm stepping into the car and winning it Alyssa made a comment that he was going to win. It was only fitting that a longtime Amerks fan and Booster Club Historian and photographer turned out to be the winner as he wore his green Amerks jersey with the Moose on the front.
Congrats to Dave!!!
