Here’s the early season break down of the schedule that I had posted.

There’s some interesting changes to this years schedule, all for the better.  The easiest thing is to just go over them one at a time.

** All night games start at 7:05pm, except for Sunday games.

** Sunday games will start at either 3pm or 5pm.  I think the earlier start times will give families with younger kids the chance to check out some games without worrying about ruining bed time for the youngsters.

** The only day of the week where a home game will not be played is Thursday.  I know, pretty pointless to mention.

** Home Games by day of the week break down by the following:

Sunday: 10
Monday: 1
Tuesday: 2
Wednesday: 2
Thursday: 0
Friday: 18
Saturday: 7

** The Amerks play the Portland Pirates four times.  Two games in Rochester and two in Buffalo at HSBC Arena.  The games in Rochester are back to back on Saturday February 20 at 7:05pm and the next day, Sunday February 21 at 3:00pm.  The away games in Buffalo are on Thursday November 12th and Sunday March 7th.

** There are three weekends throughout the season where the Amerks play three nights in a row at home on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Can I just bring a blanket and pillow and spend the weekend in the arena?

** From Jan 22-Feb 28 the Amerks play 15 home games in just 38 days.

** 7 of the last 20 games of the season are away.  Only four home games in the month of March.

** Road trip ideas: The Hershey Bears play in Rochester on December 18th and then the two teams travel to Hershey to play on December 19th.  The Amerks don’t visit Adirondack Phantoms until February 10 on a Wednesday and again March 5th on a Friday night.  As usual plenty of options to travel to Syracuse, Binghamton, Hamilton, Toronto, or even Albany.

** The Amerks only have one road trip where they’ll have to fly.  They’ll be in Winnipeg and Abbotsford the first week of December to play four games.
