The game is not on any printed schedule as it was moved from a date in January, but make sure you don’t miss out on the seventh game of the season between the Syracuse Crunch and Rochester Americans. These two teams do not have any love for each other. If you know other fans make sure to remind them about the game tonight!
The Amerks have won all six games so far between the two teams this season, the last game was a 7-4 victory in Syracuse. After that game Crunch coach Ross Yates called Salak a “cocky kid.” Jared Aulin of the Crunch called him an “average goalie.” Salak had the last laugh in that game winning 7-4 and celebrating at the end.
With call ups and injuries the Amerks fan base has become frustrated at the level of play we’ve seen recently. This should be the perfect game to help get the team out of a funk. It’s a home game and a game against a rival. The Crunch are a team that is beatable but also a team that could really lay it on.
Nick Tarnasky is here on conditioning and Mike Duco was sent back on Monday from the Panthers, two hard hitting forwards that should help a depleted lineup keep up with the goon squad known as the Crunch.
A win is vital. There’s no other way to put it. Steve MacIntyre needs to get out there and drop the gloves with Mirasty on their first shift. Just get it done and out of the way and get to playing some hockey. An early lead followed by continuing to lay it on the Crunch is what the Amerks need to do to win.
I’ll be at practice this morning and will post a follow up if there’s anything worthy. Otherwise see ya at the game!!
The game falls on the second installment of the Amerks’ Family Fun Pack, which includes four tickets for 200-End seating, four T-shirts, four hot dogs and four sodas for the low price of $52. Packages can be ordered by calling the Amerks office directly at (585) 454-5335 and speaking with a ticket sales representative.
That night, the Amerks, in conjunction with Brother Wease from 95.1 FM The Fox, will host their WEASE CARES Night. The team will donate funds raised from its Star Toss promotion during all December home games to the WEASE CARES Children’s Fund. The Rochester Knighthawks/Amerks Charitable Foundation, Inc. will donate $1.00 for each ticket sold through Ticketmaster to the children’s fund. That night, fans can also purchase a teddy bear for $15 to benefit WEASE CARES.
Fans can also participate in the Star Toss during the second intermission of the Rochester-Syracuse Crunch game. Stars are sold for $1.00 or in groups of six for $5.00. Half of the proceeds raised will be presented to the winner of the contest, while the other half will be donated to WEASE CARES through the Rochester Knighthawks/Amerks Charitable Foundation, Inc.
