Former Amerks Coach Benoit Groulx Back to Success

If we could fire up the time machine and put Chuck Weber behind the bench of the 2009-2010 Amerks instead of Benoit Groulx the results likely would have been different. Unfortunately that’s not possible.

Anyways, Benoit Groulx was not cut out for the job in Rochester but he’s back to where he is successful with the Gatineau Olympiques.

From TheChronicleHerald.ca:

Gatineau Olympiques: I’ve said this many times before, but I really cannot fathom how Benoit Groulx does it. Every year the Olympiques head coach/GM somehow takes an average-looking team on paper and transforms it into a juggernaut. For the life of me, I don’t know what his secret is but the Olympiques recently reeled off nine straight wins and just acquired the league’s leading scorer — Phillip-Michael Devos — from the Victoriaville Tigres.

Even though his tenure in Rochester ended on a sour note it’s always nice to see someone back on two feet.. and this should be the last time I ever give the guy his own article.
