Amerks Week in Review.. If You Missed It

This past week began with Rochester residents reading a letter from Terry Pegula in the Sunday paper about winning a Calder Cup and ended with the news that a Rochester native was signed by the Sabres to spend time in Rochester.  Not a bad week!  For those who aren’t hooked on hockey news like many of us I’ll try and run a weekly recap of the weeks past news items posted on the site.

Pegula’s Letter: The Goal Now is to Win a Calder Cup — A letter written by Terry Pegula to Rochester hockey fans talking about the years ahead and that winning a Calder Cup is a priority on their way to winning a Stanley Cup.

Whitmore is looking to continue his growth as a hockey player and continue to improve year over year. Stuart is a veteran winger that was a big part of the Portland Pirates offense last season.

Results of #Patchgate Brought up by Amerks Fans — #Patchgate speaks for itself. Check out the results of the survey. In a nutshelf, about 50% of the fans who took the survey prefer no patch. Or do you look at it that 50% of the fans who took it do want one?

We also learned that…

Darcy Regier plans to have the Amerks coaching staff within the next couple of weeks, McCutcheon is not a candidate

The Sabres do recognizing the need to add some scoring to Rochesters roster and will be working on that.

And if you’re going to the Corn Hill Arts Festival in Rochester this weekend make sure to stop by the Amerks booth to enter for a chance to win a Guastad jersey!

Here’s a video the Sabres uploaded from this weeks development camp. It’s not your standard watch some players skate for a couple of minutes. Watch and listen as you hear Kevyn Adams give direction and Lindy Ruff talk about what rookies can expect.

And lastly, players interviewing other players is amusing. Check out Tyler Ennis and TJ Brennan interviewing Corey Tropp.
