Chris Clackson Called up for Amerks

Looks like the Rochester Americans have their first transaction of the season with Chris Clackson being called up from the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL, he broke the news himself on Twitter @chrisclackson17 and Amerks head coach Ron Rolston confirmed it.  These guys make it easy, no more trying to guess who the new face is on the ice at a morning skate or waiting for an announcement from the team.

Clackson played in 17 games for the Amerks last season scoring two goals, two assists and acquiring 17 penalty minutes.  He also played 46 games in the ECHL split between the Gwinnett Gladiators and Cincinnati Cyclones scoring a combined 10 goals, 14 assists and 74 penalty minutes.

The Amerks were looking to be down a forward tonight with Jonathan Parker suspended for tonights game and Marcus Foligno suspended for tonight and tomorrow’s game.

Not sure he’ll provide the same scoring potential and speed as Foligno and Parker but he plays physical and it sounds like he’ll be here and ready to play.  Maybe with better players around him compared to last season he’ll provide more.
