Kassian to the Sabres; Brennan and Adam to the Amerks

TJ Brennan

Three roster moves today between the Buffalo Sabres and Rochester Americans, all of which can be beneficial which is a surprising change of pace.

TJ Brennan was cleared to play after recovering from vertebrae issues.  Initial reports were that he had a second concussion but reports since have indicated the second injury was related to his vertebrae.  He last played for the Sabres on January 19 against the Jets.  The last time he played in an Amerks uniform was January 14th.

Zack Kassian has been called up to the Sabres and in a swap the Sabres sent Luke Adam to the Amerks.  What’s this reasoning behind this move?  I’m not going to recreate the wheel, Kevin Oklobzija does a great job explaining here.

Luke Adam was the 2010/2011 American Hockey League Rookie of the Year when he played in 57 games and scored 29 goals and also had 33 assists.  Since the Sabres bought the Amerks one position that the team has had a need for was a top center and Adam could be that player.  How long will Luke Adam be here?  Bill Hoppe asked Lindy Ruff and got this answer:
