The Amerks won their second game in a row on Sunday against the Toronto Marlies in a home and home series.  The two games gave the Amerks a much needed four points in the standings and also proved again that they can compete with the best when they want to.  The videos below feature fights, hits and the goals scored.  Thanks to Kevin Wright / Disengage for capturing and uploading the videos!

The team will now prepare for back to back home games this Friday and Saturday against the Binghamton Senators, last seasons Calder Cup champions who are now in last place in the league.

T.J. Brennan and Ryan Hamilton throw down the mitts after a big hit by Brennan.

Travis Turnbull fights Marcel Mueller.

Derek Whitmore chases down his own dump in and lands a big check on Jesse Blacker. The TV broadcast does no justice to how loud the hit was in the arena.

Alex Biega banks a loose puck in the crease right into David Leggio’s ass and into the goal for the first goal of the game. This could be the Amerks’ blooper of the year.

Mike Catalana interviews Evan Rankin before the Amerks’ game against the Toronto Marlies on his return from a concussion. This would be Evan’s final game on a Professional Tryout as he was rewarded with an AHL contract on Monday. He had 8 goals and 7 assists for 15 points in 18 games.

Nazem Kadri scores on David Leggio of the Rochester Amerks. Assists to Mike Zigomanis and Ryan Hamilton.

Alex Biega fights Jerry D’Amigo in the second period of the game between the Amerks and Marlies. Looks like Biega didn’t learn to fight while he was at Harvard.

T.J. Brennan launches a bomb for a power play goal against the Toronto Marlies. Assists to Brayden McNabb and Phil Varone.

Mark Voakes ties the game against the Toronto Marlies. Assists to Travis Turnbull and Maxime Legault.

And you can watch the entire shootout where Phil Varone scores the only goal.
