Re: Wednesday Home Games
At the end of the day, I think we have an issue here with minor league sports taking a back seat in Rochester . The thing is, there are still teams out there pulling in decent crowds on a regular basis in the AHL. I know some stuff has been looked at in the past, like ticket prices across the leagu...

Re: Bills Beat the J-E-T-S Jets
My wife is from Jamestown, so she follows the Bills and watches their games on TV when she can. She is convinced that the Bills are going to play the Packers in the Super Bowl this season. The Bills are the only NFL team that actually plays in the state of New York and not East Rutherford, NJ. I alw...

Re: Ticket prices across the AHL
My Admirals season tickets are $21 face value, but with the STH discount, it is more like $17. I sit in the first row of the 200 level seats near the south goal. The 3 or 4 rows of 100 level seats are the on the glass ones. In the Bradley Center, they were $25 for row 1 and $19 for row 2, where we s...

Re: 3 games in 3 nights. How bad?
I have been to too many 3-in-3 games on Sundays. Usually, they seem to be against the Chicago Wolves, who play in Milwaukee six times a season. The third periods are brutal to watch. The players look like they are trying to skate in sand. For insagt1: I have seen a few Slapshot games in Milwaukee. I...

Re: Attendance numbers since 2005 (opening a can of worms here)
Impressive article Keith! Your numbers are similar to those for Milwaukee, but Rochester has better attendance. Milwaukee's attendance is affected a little by the Brewers, with more by the Bucks and Badgers basketball games, plus Badger football on Saturdays. The number one influence on Admirals att...

Re: AHL 2019-20 Schedule
"Some teams" Which means not all. Which adds to the great schedule imbalance that can tarnish standings. We'll see at 3pm! It is all 15 other teams in your conference. Milwaukee has only 11 opponents this season. Chicago has 9 and two California teams have seven. Belleville leads the AHL with...

Re: 2019/2020 Schedule. More of the same.
The good news for you Amerks fans is that they play 15 different opponents this season! The bad news is that they are all the teams from your conference. Twelve games with Syracuse, ten each with Bingo and Utica. Milwaukee plays 11 opponents, with Belleville, Laval and Colorado in the mix along with...

Re: AHL Best Team Wins It All!!
Last year Toronto was the AHL champ and they won the Cup too. Unusual for this to happen two years in a row. Past that Hershey, I believe Manchester and Norfolk also won the regular season and the Cup in the past 10-15 years. I have to think its even more rare in the NHL. Milwaukee was the regular ...

Re: Its Blues vs Bruins for All the Marbles
As an old time Bruins fan, (I remember Orr's flying goal in 1970) I am rooting for them! I believe that they will win in 6 and I am sticking with it. My only concerns are Chara and that guy that St Louis tried to kill in Game 2 and who hasn't played since. The Blues player was suspended for 1 game. ...

Re: The Once Great D&C
I like this forum because it parallels Milwaukee and the Admirals. You could switch D&C to MJS and change a few names and that would be it. The Milwaukee newspaper used to ask people for their opinion about what they wanted to see in the newspaper. Many people told them that they wanted the Green Sh...
