Re: Audio from Chris Taylor on the Sports Bar

Do it. Worth a shot!

It's been refreshing to hear local sports talk, and Danger/Battaglia certainly are easier to listen to than, say, John DiTulio, who too often sounded like that uncle who thinks he knows sports, but actually had no interest outside of his favorite teams.

Re: Jason Botterill hired.

Odds of that being asked during the presser? Pretty low, if I know my Buffalo media.

Re: Maybe someone pulled their head out

With TP's track record, I'm really skeptical of that happening. We're more likely to see Coach/GM Lindy Ruff than, say, Dean Lombardi walk through that door.

Re: Bettman Finally Gets One Right

I should've pointed this out last night - but it's generally accepted that the IOC allowing tennis pros to play in '88 was the impetus for other, larger sports associations to legally allow their pros to play. For example, the 1989 decision to let NBA pros play wasn't because of some power play by D...

Re: Bettman Finally Gets One Right

The NBA won't drop out. The game has only grown worldwide since the Dream Team and the numbers of international players are rising. Most importantly, the Summer Games are in the off-season. FIBA and the NBA have a far less antagonistic relationship (USA Basketball is essentially run by the NBA, I be...

Re: Bettman Finally Gets One Right

Well I won't be watching the hockey in the Olympics...they will be boring now. In fact the Olympics will get more attention then the NHL at that time. So the NHL will be going up against the Olympics for ratings...not smart in my opinion. They will lose that any day. I'd bet NBC will try to twist t...

Re: Bettman Finally Gets One Right

I simply don't understand why people think that hockey has to be a special case when it comes to the Olympics. Who wants to see college/junior kids against European pros in anything this day and age, when the Olympics have been completely professional for 30ish years? If I wanted that, I'll just thr...

Re: June 13,1996

Junior year of high school. Will always remember a guy in my Spanish class was nice enough to get me a program. And the teacher I hated most scheduled her final the same time as the parade, which a few of us wanted to attend. Figures. At least I have most of the games chronicled in a yearbook. Alway...
