Who's on your 4th line?

Post by keithLGA » Tue Feb 26, 2019 8:19 am

#Amerks have played their best recently with these top 3 lines:

CJ Smith/Porter/Simpson
Olofsson/Asplund/O'Regan
Elie/Oglevie/Leier

That leaves 8 (if healthy) for the 4th line for a possible playoff run - Nylander, D. Smith, Criscuolo, Veilleux, Cornel, Randell, Malone, and Thompson.

Cornel has played every game so far, that accounts for something. Thompson will certainly deserve a spot. Some other decisions are easy. Others not so much.

My bias pick - D. Smith/Cornel/Thompson

Big challenges ahead, including staying healthy. Who's on your 4th line?

I hate the thought that it's going to be Nylander, Cornel, Thompson.

Sitting Veilleux, D Smith, and Randell in the playoffs seems like you're asking for trouble, and it's not acceptable to go down two games in the first round before those guys finally see the ice to "spark" the team. Although that's what I fully expect to happen.

Oglevie shouldn’t be a lock, for starters. Decent player, but Criscuolo will play over him quite easily. Thompson and Nylander will play. We all know it. Maybe Nylander gets benched after a game or two, but he’ll be playing in game 1. So that leaves 1 more player. It should be Dalton Smith, but more likely Cornel.

I'm just pissed that Nylander is still here after yesterday.

The Team Sweden coach bitterly complains that the team is too soft, so they don't do anything about the softest player to come through here in years.

3 seasons and counting. Most teams would have jetted his a$* out of there by now. Not Team Sweden.....

Are we assuming that Thompson will only be here after the Sabres are done?

I would assume so, last week of the season for us.

What do I like? or what will happen? If Buffalo has a say, it will be prospects. Nylander/Malone/Thompson. Assuming no change to the current lines, I would say that Smith/Crisco/Thompson. Of the rest I feel bad for Veilleux. I've liked his game this year.
