TJ Brennan Back With the Amerks

TJ Brennan Back With the Amerks

TJ Brennan was sent back to the Rochester Americans after being called up by the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday to be available on the road if there were any more injuries, he didn’t play.  He’s back with the team and playing today in Toronto.

Mike Weber is said to be out for “weeks” with an injury which means there’ll probably be more call ups by the Sabres in the “weeks” ahead so that the team has an extra defenseman when on the road or if the Amerks will be anywhere not within a close driving distance.

The Amerks have an abundance of defensemen so this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.  Ron Rolston had made it clear from the start of the season they’d carry extra’s for reasons just like this.

Game two of the home and home for the Amerks and Marlies is set to start any minute.  The Marlies beat the Amerks last night 2-1 thanks to a short handed goal late in the third period.

Two of the 2007-08 Amerks will be in attendance at the Rochester Red Wings baseball game tomorrow night (May 30th). Forward, Patrick Kaleta and defenseman, Mike Weber will be raising money for the Pirate Toy Fund.

Kaleta and Weber will sign autographs for free from 6:00 to 6:55 p.m. and then 7:15 to 8:00 p.m. There will be pictures available of the players to buy. Part of the proceeds from those pictures will go to the fund.

Both players will also be throwing out a first pitch to start off the game.

The game starts at 7:05 p.m. when the Red Wings take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees at Frontier Field.

Sekera, Kaleta, Weber, Plante, Beaverson

April 6, 2008 - By

Patrick Kaleta, Andrej Sekera, and Mike Weber were all returned to the Amerks in what could be the last transaction ever between the two teams.  Kaleta played Sunday against the Crunch, Weber was given the night off.  Andrej Sekera did not rejoin the Amerks though as he joined Team Slovakia in the World Championships.

As previously reported, Tyler Plante also rejoined the Amerks after filling the spot of backup goalie for the Florida Panthers in there last game of the season.

Luke Beaverson was released from his ATO.  He’s still property of the Florida Panthers and we can probably expect to see him back next season.

The team captain notched a career high 21 points (9+12) while appearing in every game on the blueline during his senior year at UMass.

  • Tommy Goebel (F) – A short 5′ 7″ tall and 166lbs, he’s the smallest player on the ice and can’t be missed.  In three games played already for the Amerks he has scored one goal and three assists.  He is very fast on the ice with great hands, as long he doesn’t get pushed all over the ice.
