Kenndal McArdle Will be Healthy by Training Camp

As expected, Kenndal McArdle is definitely done for the season but is expected to be healthy and ready to go by the time training camp starts in September.  McArdle is a restricted free agent this summer but I think it’s safe to say that the Panthers will extend him an offer to stick around.

Here’s what George Richards posted today:

Kenndal McArdle was expected to have surgery on his right shoulder in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday.

McArdle, who played in 19 games for the Panthers this season, was lost for the season when he injured his left shoulder in the minors. McArdle had surgery on that shoulder six weeks ago. He says he should be healthy and ready to go by training camp.

I’m not too familiar with shoulder injuries, but hopefully with surgery on both shoulders they’ll be reinforced and ready for McArdle’s hard hitting style of hockey.

McArdle injured his shoulder in this fight with Zach Smith of the Binghamton Senators back on February 14th:

The next time we’ll see him in Rochester will probably be the Panthers preseason game against the Boston Bruins.
