Amerks Trim 10 Players from Training Camp Roster

The regular season is less than a week away and the Rochester Americans trimmed their training camp roster by 10 players this morning. The moves aren’t surprising in any way. Two players were released from tryouts and eight were assigned to Cincinnati.

Released from tryout: Connor Hall, Carl Hessler

Assigned to Cincinnati: Justin Baudry (D), Tobie Bisson (D), Kurt Gosselin (D), Frank Hora (D), Michael Houser (G), Mason Mitchell (LW), Devante Stephens (D), John Wiitala (LW)

Pascal Aquin is the only player still in training camp that had played all but one game in Cincinnati last season. Aquin scored 27 goals in Cincinnati last season and could get an extended look in Rochester. The team lost a lot of goal scoring with the departures of O’Regan, Simpson, and promotion of Olofsson to Buffalo.

The Amerks defense remaining at training camp: Zach Redmond, Andrew MacWilliam, Nathan Paetsch, Casey Fitzgerald, Jacob Bryson, and Brandon Hickey. Will Borgen is expected to be assigned to Rochester from Buffalo.
