Jonas Johansson Competed in AHL All-Star Skills Competition

Jonas Johansson went from Syracuse, NY one night to Ontario, CA the next to take part in the 2020 AHL All-Star Classic Skills Competition. The Buffalo Sabres prospect and Rochester Americans number one goalie competed in three different events – Rapid Fire, Pass and Score, and Breakaway Relay.

Johansson was one of seven goalies to have four of a possible five saves in the Breakaway Relay challenge.

You can watch the clips below of Johansson’s performance in the Skills Competition event.

But first, the biggest highlight of the event was Martin Frk setting a new record with an amazing 109.2mph hardest shot. He broke the previous AHL record of 105.5 set by Colin Miller in 2015. Who had the hardest shot on record between the AHL and NHL? That was Zdeno Chara at 108.8mph set in 2012.

Here’s the clips of Johansson. You can watch a replay of the entire event at www.theahl.com and click on AHLTV. The All-Star Classic game is Monday night and will be streamed for free on AHLTV as well.
